Kris grew up playing in the trees, mountains, and rivers of Northern Alberta where it was almost impossible for her mom to convince her to come into the house. From a young age, Kris has had a love for the outdoors and an adventurous spirit which have led her to explore the natural beauty of many different countries around the world.
Kris has a Masters degree in Neuropsychology which provides her with an in-depth understanding of brain function and development. Since 2007 she has worked as an instructional design consultant supporting organizations with their learning and development programs.
Kris is passionate about child development, values the importance of risky and self-directed play, and firmly believes a love for the outdoors is the biggest and best gift you can give a child. In 2019, she began her journey to become a Certified Forest School Practitioner from the Child and Nature Alliance of Canada. In her free time, you can find Kris gardening with her children, exploring our local river valley, or encouraging children to climb trees.
