Selena is a bit of a nomad. She had moved once a year, every year, for the last ten years. Selena is originally from Ontario, and so far, she had lived in three provinces across Canada. Selena was a youth care worker. She worked in residential homes and treatment centers for at-risk youth for around 3 years, until, switching to Early Childhood Education. Selena is very passionate about trauma informed care and creating an environment for children that is inclusive and welcoming to all.
Selena is completing her Early Childhood Education Degree through Lethbridge College and her Forest School Practicum Course. As someone who primarily lived in the city, she is excited to build a connection with the land and learn various new skills, such as building fires, brush craft, and building resilience in cold or harsh weather.
Selena currently serves EFSS as an Educator. She loves nature and is enthusiastic about outdoor play!
