Claire grew up in Edmonton where she spent long days playing in her backyard and in Whitemud Creek ravine. Her passion for working outside with kids began when she volunteered at her childhood summer camp, and has stuck with her ever since. Claire has delivered interpretive programs in many settings including Edmonton’s parks and river valley, at summer camps, and in the mountains of the Yukon. She loves supporting kids and adults in connecting to the land through movement and by learning about the interconnectedness of ecosystems. Claire has a degree in Environmental Science and a background in conservation fieldwork across Alberta. She is always seeking ways to spend time outside, like spotting merlins swooping over her backyard, walking among old trees, exercising in the sunshine, and introducing her young son to flowers. She is eager to learn and play with the students at EFSS, and to facilitate a connection to Edmonton’s natural landscapes.
