Arielle spent her life in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, and recently relocated to the beautiful steppe-prairie of central Alberta. Her background in education spans many years and forms, often based on connection to place and guided by the child’s natural wonder; she believes that these connections are essential to the protection of our wild lands and the strengthening of our communities. She’s worked as an outdoor educator, a Montessori teacher, and implemented arts-based service-learning programs in low-income schools.
Arielle’s passion for nature-based education began with her own childhood, where she spent many hours scrambling on rocks, or watching birds or bull snakes, and she feels lucky to have the opportunity to encourage today’s young people to find empowerment, connection, and joy in the natural world and with one another. You can often find her crouched on the forest floor identifying some plant, listening to the intricate songs of birds, or just appreciating the natural areas that she finds herself in.
