Selena is passionate about creating inclusive and welcoming spaces for children. Prior to serving EFSS, Selena had devoted three years working with at-risk youth in residential homes and treatment centers. She now supports children’s development through outdoor learning. Her work focuses on resilience, self-esteem, mental well-being, and fostering deep connections with the land and community. With a strong value in life-long learning, Selena continues to explore and grow her knowledge in early childhood education, pedagogy, and land base practices. Selena most recently completed her early childhood education certificate, nature and forest school practitioners course, and devoted a summer on the island in beautiful British Columbia, with the goal of empowering children through nature-based education.

Selena has served EFSS as an educator since 2023 with a focus on creating an inclusive space for children to form a deep connection to the land and the community.
