Jessica has worked in the child care field for more than 15 years, specializing in working with school-age children. Growing up, she usually preferred to spend time indoors with her nose in a book. As an adult, seeing the benefits of outdoor play for the children in her care was a catalyst to revisit her own relationship with the natural world. Jessica is an avid birdwatcher and while she loves seeking out new “lifers”, her favourite birds are the magpies and chickadees in her own backyard. Jessica has a degree in Elementary Education and also works as a course facilitator and coach for early childhood educators across the province. She is passionate about ensuring all children have access to high quality learning and care settings, and loves sharing her excitement for outdoor play with other educators.
