Spencer Johnston

Spencer grew up on a wooded quarter in western Alberta, picking berries, chopping trees and keeping chickens with his family. Here he learned the importance of our connection to nature and community, and these values are things he strives to pass on in his professional life. He’s been teaching hunter training now for 3 years and working in childcare for over 11, and he loves providing some of the wonderful insight and stability that supported his own development through these professional outlets. Working with students has been incredibly rewarding, and he loves how their youthful worldview helps to keep him grounded and curious about the world, reminding him that there’s more to it than gas prices and a daily commute. The wonders of nature inspire Spencer to be a good steward for the future and spark his imagination, and he loves that he gets to share them at forest school.
