Building outdoor spaces where everyone is made to feel as if they can belong is Laura’s ultimate passion. With a background in working in special education, outdoor education, and early childhood education Laura’s believes that the “best classroom and richest cupboard is that which is roofed by the sky”. Originally from Drayton Valley, Alberta; Laura’s fond childhood memories of exploring the land outside her house, camping, Girl Guides, and partaking in learn to ski programs catalyzed a motivation to ensure that all children receive similar opportunities. Having spent the last few years exploring the world of outdoor education in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and British Columbia Laura is excited to be back in central Alberta getting to know the Edmonton River Valley with the guidance of children’s curiosity and playfulness.
